20 June 2013 – The Department of Foreign Affairs Personnel Corps, through Ms. Marivic Reyes of the Office of Personnel and Administrative Services (OPAS), turned over the cash donation of Php 52,025.00 to officials of Ateneo de Davao University’s relief operations program for typhoon stricken families of Typhoon “Pablo,” on June 10 at the Office of the President, Ateneo de Davao.
Receiving the donation were Ms. Semia Pacete-Truan, Ms. Ma. Theresa Ancheta, Chair of the University Community Engagement and Advocacy Council (UCEAC), Atty. Romeo T. Cabarde Jr., and Assistant to the President of Ateneo de Davao University Mr. Jeremy Eliab.
The turnover was arranged by DFA Regional Consular Office-Davao’s Officer-in-Charge Flora Bacosa.
Six months after the typhoon wrought devastation in many parts of Mindanao, hundreds of families in the Compostella Valley region of Davao Oriental are still in dire need of assistance.
Ateneo de Davao’s Relief Operations have focused on relief goods distributions, medical missions, psychosocial debriefing, distribution of school supplies and installations of solar panels.
OPAS received voluntary cash donations from its personnel in the home office and Foreign Service Posts around the world. END
